The Wisdomous : Ted Lasso and the constant happiness!
Welcome to The Wisdomous - a friendly email sent to you every week to nourish your mental wealth. You will find micro-lessons from macro thinkers, a good story, awesome reads and some fun suggestions.
Greetings, friends! I hope you've had a good run thus far in life. On my end, there have been many ups and downs, but we are grateful regardless.
My thoughts have recently been split between anger and delight. So, in this section, I'm going to talk about happiness.
What would you say if someone asked if you were happy?
I recently watched a happy person on television. Ted Lasso is his name.
Ted travels from America to the United Kingdom to coach a football team, despite having no prior experience with the game. What does he have to offer? It's the attitude.
Ted is curious rather than pessimistic. Despite his boss's desire for the club to fail and players who are unresponsive to his message, he promotes unity. He exudes positivity and kindness at all times.
His life isn't without flaws. He's in England because he and his wife are having a difficult time.
"I have a really tricky time hearing folks who don't believe in themselves" - Ted Lasso.
In brief, the series is about a man who is so happy that all opposition, whether people or things, is worn down and gives up.
Ted provides an alternative to what I see on a daily basis. On social media, there is a generation of angry people, but happiness is also an option.
My definition of happiness isn't that everything is perfect. But rather that I recognise that dwelling on the negative won't help.
Happiness is a state of mind rather than a goal.
“Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.” — Henry David Thoreau
We didn't learn to be happy from a TV show, and you won't either; as the great Thich Nhat Hanh put it, “There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.”
Just decide that you want to be happy, it won't solve all life issues but it will make it easier to navigate them.
Simply deciding to be happy will not fix all of your problems, but it will make them simpler to deal with.

"Every day does not need to be a massive win for it to be a step forward" - by Yung Pueblo.
Life isn't about discovering one's fate; it's about creating one's future by making choices about one's thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present.
A walk is never a waste of time.
If you live off people's compliments, you'll die from their criticism.

Are you bored, lazy or understimulated? : It's not about getting everything done that counts; it's about getting the right things done. Make sure your objectives are clear. If you're procrastinating, force yourself to do nothing. Doing nothing tends to develop into doing something.
Notes.
How Can I Reconnect with Myself?
It's compelling to connect with yourself and become self-aware. You'll learn to accept yourself as you are. Emotions, habits, and programming won't have as much sway over you. To prevent feeling uncomfortable with your thoughts, you won't need to distract or numb yourself.
How often do you observe your own emotions, moods, and thoughts throughout the day? How frequently do you distance yourself from your internal monologue to avoid being engrossed in it?
Meditation is a terrific technique for this, but you must practise it—the more you do it, the better you will become at connecting with yourself.
Fun.
